PIP 2011 THANKS!

Pork in the Park will be held on Saturday, June 30th, 2012!

Please mark your calendars for this years event, we look forward to seeing you!

What an awesome turnout for this year’s Pork in the Park! Once again we had great weather and wonderful support from riders near and far. There are a few people that we would love to thank as we could not have pulled this off without them…

First, to all of the staff, parents, friends and families from Walter Lawson Children’s Home who came out and volunteered their time to make this event a success, we thank you!  Also to our friends who donated the pigs (we had 3 pigs which provided great food all day long!); Chris Stutsman from Brass Ring Amusement, Pete from Crazy Times Pub and Grub and Dick Meyers. A special thanks to Neighbors Bar and Grill (who by the way also won the $300 drawing and donated it back to Walter Lawson!) for donating the pig roasters, charcoal and providing the dedicated cooks (John Eschen, Chad and Diane Hendricks, and Jerry Hopkins) who cooked all night long! We can’t forget Charlene Fisher for all of those hamburger buns, yum!

We also had plaque donations from Mike and Tina from Special T Engraving and thanks to Roscoe Auto Glass for sponsoring the bike show. Thanks to our vendors Precious Metal Cargo, Big Bike Outfitters, T & B Leather, and Winnebago County 911 and First Responders Memorial Committee. And let’s not forget our sponsor 96.7 The Eagle and the great music from one of Wisconsin’s leading bands, Southern Impact.

Lastly, a big thanks to all of the Rockford Steel Pigs club members and the PIP committee members that put this all together; Scott, Rich, Shawn, John, Jason, Don, Rob and Lisa. It takes all of you many hours of hard work to bring this all to fruition, great job and here’s to passing the torch to next year’s committee members (ha-ha). And again, thank you to ALL OF YOU for coming out to the park, buying a ticket and showing your support, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
